Life
It is said our lifespan is 10
to 20 years (sometimes even 25 years). Mosts of us however don't live
that long and are killed much earlier either by some illness or accident.
Breeding
A pigeon becomes sexually mature around six months after the birth.
Each time a female pigeon lays two eggs. The
male and female partners together hatch them in about 16-17 days. The most flourishing breeding
season is in spring. Propagative power will decrease around early July.
Breeding will usually have stopped by August, September. We exhibit very strong conjugal-affection and
often live with
the same partner right through our life.
Food
As you know we likes cereals, such as beans, seeds of
weeds etc. but sometimes we eat earthworms, grasshoppers, etc.
The place where we like to build nest
Although our wild ancestors used to build nest in
cliffs,
rock ledges, and caves,
we moderners living in cities build nests (mainly using twigs, pieces of
wood, small stones and brick chips) on buildings and trees instead of a cliff or a rock ledge.
Territory
The vicinity of our nest. Even in narrow, congested
places we can live with many friends
together.
Habit Usually
about ten birds form a group and live together. Occasionally several 100 big groups may be made
be seen together. Our fighting
spirit is very strong, so we fight thoroughly against invasion
of other families.
Homing Nature
Although there are many theories, such as solar-compass
theory, magnetism theory, eye-sight theory etc. about the capability
of the carrier pigeon to find its way home over long distances, we
really don't understand why? But, anyhow, we can successfully fly home
from a distance
of about 500-1,000km. |

We have
big possibility to move and spread illness and parasite
to every people. Moreover, please pay enough attention since the
symptoms of an allergy may come out with our feathers. If our excrement
are left for a long time, it become difficult to wash and clean ad if
excrement fallen to metal the corrosion will be promoted
The following extracted from the prominent investigations
about the disease we might have.
Food poisoning(Sarumonera)
Many of mass food poisoning happens due to the sarumonera bacillus which
usually being carried by the excrement of a rat, about 2% of the pigeon
held this bacillus, and food poisoning has taken place from the our
excrement.
Encephalitis
We may also hold an encephalitis virus and it is infected with people
through mediation of Culex-Mosquito(Classification is Culex tritaeniorhynchus). The
symptoms are a high fever, headache, and vomiting, and consciousness
muddiness, a spasm, etc. take place after 2 or 3 days even if 20% of
the infected person heals up, squeal, such as paralysis of hand and
foot..
Allergy
some time feathers and powder of dried excrement may cause , heavy allergy
accompanied by an asthmatic fit .Moreover, there is a possibility may occur
the lung disease which damages a peripheral gas exchange organization
among the raisers of a carrier pigeon. This is caused by inhaling the
antigen in the excrement of a pigeon.
Psittacosis
Psittacosis is an illness conventionally infected with bird, it
may be infected to human by contact to bird and a man, and this happens
by the virus, and although the slight illness is similar to cold, if
it becomes heavy, condition like pneumonia will be presented. It is
infected by the virus contained in excrement of a pigeon, and it is
said that 30 - 75% of the pigeon has this virus. 18% was a positively
in psittacosis shift possession, the person who working in the
temple have many chance to contact with a pigeon.
Cryptococus neoformans
By kind of a mycosis called Cryptococus neoformans, if it becomes
a dermatitis grade and a serious injury when people are infected with
this and it is slight illness, a focus may be made on a brain and a spinal
cord film, and death may be followed on them. It dissociates out of the
excrement of birds, and enters on a human body together with the dry excrement,
the dry dust, etc, and the symptoms will shown. It is said that this bacillus
is strong to dryness and a bacillus will survive for two years or more.
Newcastle disease
Many bird including pigeon has this bacillus, and the symptoms of it
is shown through mediation of or an external parasite. The Newcastle
disease of a chicken sid that that a wild bird may carry virus. If infected
with man, sharpe grain conjunctivitis is known as a general symptom.
Toxoplasmosis
Toxoplasma gondii
A protozoan called Toxoplasma gondii cuse of this disease. It is the dangerous illness
which produces a brain obstacle in many cases,Unborn babies catch this
parasite from their mother if the mother is infected during pregnancy,
especially during the first three months. Unborn babies are at risk of
severe infection that may result in mental retardation, blindness, or
death
Histoplasma
People get sick by a kind of bold of Histoplasama casulatarum, and the symptom
looks like a pulmonary tuberculosis. When
spore in the air falls to excrement of a pigeon, and the conditions such as temperature
and humidity etc increases suddenly, and this mold will be
infected to people when they touch it..
